Roger Belson 1949 - 2011
With huge sadness, Regain mourns the recent loss of our Director Roger Belson.
Roger suffered a heart attack during Christmas Day and passed away peacefully on 26th December with his beloved wife, Dido by his side.
In 1989, after a career in the army, Roger became paralysed from the chest down following a car accident. Roger overcame his disability to pursue a career helping people in his constituency as a County Councillor. In 1996, Roger joined Regain and led the charity as director for over 14 years, with incredible strength and commitment.
Roger always showed great compassion and enormous generosity towards fellow tetraplegics. He selflessly dedicated himself, through the charity, to work to help change and improve the lives of countless tetraplegics and will be missed by all Regainers.
Roger will be dearly remembered by the Chairman and trustees of the charity to whom he was a much loved friend and colleague.

Regain is the only charitable organisation dedicated solely to improving the independence of all British men and women who have become tetraplegic (sometimes referred to as quadriplegic) as a result of a sports or leisure injury.
Money is available for potential Regainers to help provide them with the specialist equipment they need to enable them to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. Each request is considered independently, on its own merits and will be granted after consideration of the funds available at the time.
